Government agencies issued tenders for approximately 5.4 GW of solar capacity in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, down 5.7% from 5.7 GW in the previous quarter and 21.5% lower than 6.8 GW in the same quarter last year. The decline in standalone solar tender issuance was driven partly by evolving distribution company procurement preferences, as utilities increasingly sought renewable energy solutions aligned with their demand profiles.
