The Tamil Nadu government announced that electricity consumers installing solar panels under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana will receive a subsidy of up to ₹100,000 (~$1,052). The state government will provide a top-up subsidy of ₹22,000 (~$231.33) over and above the ₹78,000 (~$820.2) subsidy available under PM Surya Ghar for rooftop systems of 3 kW.
