Masdar signed an agreement with the Emirates Water and Electricity Authority (EWEC), under which it will represent Abu Dhabi in domestic solar independent power producer projects. The agreement aims to accelerate the deployment of over 30 GW of solar capacity and more than 8 GW of battery energy storage systems. Abu Dhabi plans to roll out hybrid solar-and-battery projects over the next decade.
