					</table><p>NLC India Renewables (NIRL) has announced the winner of its project management consultancy auction for two battery energy storage system projects totaling 275 MW/650 MWh and a 50 MW solar project in Tamil Nadu.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.nlcindia.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NLC India</a> had floated the consultancy tender on behalf of its subsidiary NIRL.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.ahasolar.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ahasolar Technologies</a> has been declared the winner of this auction.</p>
<p>The tender was floated in June 2026.</p>
<p>The projects comprise a 250 MW/500 MWh battery energy storage system project, a 50 MW solar project at Mine-II, and a 25 MW/150 MWh battery energy storage system project in Neyveli.</p>
<p>The projects must be completed within 18 months.</p>
<p>The scope of work covers end-to-end project management, including project planning, scheduling and monitoring, material inspection, risk analysis, documentation and handover, and support during the defect liability and operation and maintenance transition periods.</p>
<p>It also entails quality assurance, compliance with environmental, social, and governance, and safety requirements, project closeout, and submitting project-related reports, data, and information required by lenders.</p>
<p>In July 2026, Ahasolar was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/coal-india-announces-winner-of-750-mwh-energy-storage-consultancy-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declared</a> the winner of Coal India’s auction to appoint an owner’s engineer-cum-engineering consultancy firm for an 187.5 MW/750 MWh battery energy storage system at Telangana Transmission Corporation’s Choutuppal substation.</p>
<p>Last year, Ahasolar <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ahasolar-wins-consultancy-contract-for-875-mw-solar-project-from-coal-india" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> a work order for providing owner’s engineering and project management consultancy services for an 875 MW solar power project from Coal India Rajasthan Akshay Urja.</p>
<p>In August of the same year, Ahasolar <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ahasolar-wins-consultancy-contract-for-sccls-107-mw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a project management consultancy contract from Singareni Collieries Company for establishing a 107 MW solar project.</p>

					</table><p>The Ministry of Power <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/government-scraps-power-telecom-panel-nod-for-transmission" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decided</a> to eliminate the requirement for clearance from the Power Telecom Coordination Committee for transmission lines, effective July 1, 2026, to reduce delays in project execution. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Power to address bottlenecks in transmission project development, particularly those affecting the Power Grid Corporation of India.</p>
<p>The U.S. Department of Commerce <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/us-sets-preliminary-antidumping-duties-on-solar-cells-from-india" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> preliminary affirmative determinations in antidumping duty investigations into crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells, whether or not assembled into modules or solar cells, from India, Indonesia, and Laos. For India, the Commerce Department assigned an estimated weighted-average dumping margin of 123.04% to Mundra Solar PV, Mundra Solar Energy, Kowa Company, and Premier Energies.</p>
<p>SJVN Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-green-invites-bids-for-sale-of-712-mw-solar-modules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> an expression of interest to sell 712.89 MW of solar modules stored at multiple locations in India. Bids must be submitted by May 14, 2026. Bids will be opened on May 15. The scope of work includes identifying prospective buyers and assessing commercial modalities, including lot-wise, location-wise, or composite sale structures.</p>
<p>Seven companies have <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/seci-announces-winners-of-5-6-mw-rooftop-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction to install 5,665 kW rooftop solar projects under the renewable energy service company model on 14 government buildings (Tranche-VIII). The tender was floated in January this year. GH2 Solar secured the highest overall capacity, winning 300 kW at a tariff of ₹3.13 (~$0.0333)/kWh, 1,200 kW at ₹3 (~$0.0319)/kWh, and 1,000 kW at ₹3.04 (~$0.0323)/kWh.</p>
<p>Nexamp, a developer of solar and battery storage projects, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solar-and-storage-project-developer-nexamp-secures-200-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a $200 million credit facility from Nuveen Energy Infrastructure Credit, acting as the sole lender. The facility is structured as a delayed draw term loan, with an initial commitment of $125 million and an option to access an additional $75 million.</p>
<p>The Indian Energy Exchange <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/higher-power-trading-volume-pushes-iexs-revenue-up-22-5-yoy-in-q4-fy-2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> revenue from operations of ₹1.74 billion (~$18.49 million) in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2026, a 22.5% year-over-year (YoY) increase from ₹1.42 billion (~$15.09 million). The company’s profit after tax stood at ₹1.3 billion (~$13.82 million), a 10.8% YoY increase from ₹1.17 billion (~$12.43 million).</p>
<p>Gujarat-based solar company Ahasolar Technologies <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ahasolar-technologies-wins-consultancy-tender-for-30-mw-rooftop-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a work order from Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology to provide consultancy services for 30 MW of distributed grid-connected rooftop solar projects in Goa. The project involves implementing rooftop solar systems at various government buildings across the state.</p>
<p>Independent power producer ReNew Energy Global will <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/renew-to-set-up-6-5-gw-solar-ingot-wafer-facility-in-andhra-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">set</a> up a 6.5 GW solar ingot-wafer manufacturing facility in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of ₹42 billion (~$446.47 million). Through this manufacturing facility, ReNew aims to enable backward integration of its solar module and cell manufacturing processes.</p>
<p>India’s industrial sector is increasingly <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/pidilite-industries-leverages-rooftop-solar-to-save-on-power-bills" target="_blank" rel="noopener">adopting</a> rooftop solar to offset rising electricity costs and improve energy efficiency within existing infrastructure constraints. Large manufacturing units, in particular, are leveraging distributed solar systems across factory rooftops to optimize available space while maintaining uninterrupted operations.</p>
<p>The Saudi Power Procurement Company <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/saudi-arabia-issues-qualification-process-for-12-gwh-energy-storage-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> the qualification process for the second group of four-hour-duration battery energy storage projects, with a total capacity of 3,000 MW/12,000 MWh. Each project will be set up under a build-own-operate model, with selected bidders holding 100% equity in the special purpose vehicle established to develop and operate the storage project.</p>
<p>U.S.-based Headwater Energy, a utility-scale solar and energy storage development firm, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/headwater-energy-acquires-solar-storage-developer-arena-renewables" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> the acquisition of Arena Renewables, a distributed generation solar and battery energy storage system developer. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition combines Arena’s project development capabilities with Headwater’s financing and operational platform, bringing a development pipeline of nearly 1 GW of solar and storage projects.</p>

<p>The project involves implementing rooftop solar systems at various government buildings across the state. The project must be executed within 15 months of receipt of the work order.</p>
<p>The estimated project cost is ₹24.8 million (~$263,695). The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/mahapreit-consultancy-goa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> in March 2024.</p>
<p>Ahasolar will act as the project monitoring consultant for the implementation of the solar projects, covering technical, financial, and operational aspects. Its responsibilities include overseeing project planning, monitoring progress, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and supporting system commissioning.</p>
<p>The scope of work also includes preparing detailed project reports for the rooftop solar installations. In addition, the assignment involves supporting the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at 30 locations across the state.</p>
<p>The company will conduct site surveys, system design, and cost estimation for the proposed installations. It will also carry out financial feasibility assessments.</p>
<p>As part of the implementation phase, Ahasolar will oversee project execution, including compliance management, performance testing, and system commissioning.</p>
<p>The company provides software for solar installers to manage and design projects. It is also an online marketplace for buying and selling solar products and services.</p>

<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sccl-issues-consultancy-tenders-for-137-mw-solar-projects-in-telangana" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in April this year.</p>
<p>The projects are to be set up at the following SCCL locations in Telangana:</p>
<ul>
<li>A 5 MW project at the Singareni Thermal Power Plant</li>
<li>A 37 MW project at Ramagundam-3 (20 MW OB Dump and 17 MW Ground)</li>
<li>A 5 MW project at Sathupalli in the Kothagudem area</li>
</ul>
<p>The scope of work for Ahasolar includes the design, engineering, review of the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, site management, inspection and testing, module inspection services, and project performance testing of the solar project.</p>
<p>The order is valued at approximately ₹11.2 million (~$130,232.56). The work must be completed within one year.</p>
<p>Ahasolar provides software for solar installers to manage and design projects. It is also an online marketplace for buying and selling solar products and services.</p>
<p>Recently, SCCL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/singareni-collieries-floats-epc-tender-for-15-mw-rooftop-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 15 MW in Telangana. The projects will be implemented on the rooftops of residential colonies and office buildings.</p>
<p>In July this year, SCCL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/singareni-collieries-floats-om-tender-for-5-mw-floating-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the operation and maintenance of a 5 MW floating solar power project at the Singareni Thermal Plant’s water storage reservoir for eight years.</p>
<p>In September 2024, Ahasolar Technologies <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ahasolar-wins-consultancy-contract-for-coal-indias-300-mw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> a letter of intent from Coal India for an owner’s engineer-cum-project management consultancy contract for a 300 MW solar power project in Khavda, Gujarat. The consultancy contract is estimated at ₹11 million, the company said in a regulatory filing.</p>

Preference will be given to “Make in India” products for bids below ₹2 billion (~$23.9 million), favoring Class 1 local suppliers as defined in the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order 2017.</p>
<p><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/ahasolar-consultancy-contract-52-mw-solar-bpcl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Ahasolar Technologies was awarded the consultancy contract for setting up a 52 MW solar power project at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, by Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).</strong></a> The company quoted ₹5.1 million (~$61,168) to win the ten-month contract. BPCL had floated the tender for the project in February. The company plans to power three of its refineries through the solar project: Mumbai Refinery- 8 MW, Bina Refinery- 22 MW, and Kochi Refinery- 16 MW. Ahasolar will be responsible for concept to commissioning the project within the agreed schedule, ensuring the quality of procurement items and construction workmanship is in line with established engineering practices, standards, and codes, and project risk management.</p>
