					</table>The <a href="https://gercin.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission</a> has retained power tariffs for all consumer categories, including low-tension (LT), high-tension (HT), and extra-high-tension, at the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/gujarat-retains-last-years-electricity-tariffs-for-fy-2026?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previous</a> year&#8217;s levels.
It has, however, raised cross-subsidy surcharge and wheeling charges for open access power consumers.
The Commission has increased the rebate for consumers opting for prepaid smart metering from 2% last year to 3%.
It also expanded eligibility for the time-of-use discount of ₹0.6 (~$0.006) on energy charges to include residential, general lighting, non-residential, low-tension maximum demand, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations with smart meters on postpaid bills. This discount was earlier available only to consumers with prepaid smart meters.
All waterworks connections will be eligible for the discount, with the Commission removing the previous minimum load requirement of 50 HP.
The duration of the discount period has been extended from 11:00 to 15:00 to 11:00 to 17:00.
The Commission clarified that the time-of-use charges for non-residential general-purpose, low-tension maximum demand, and LT EV charging station consumers will be levied only if a meter with a time-of-day recording facility is installed at the consumer’s premises.
It further reduced the additional green power tariff from ₹0.9 (~$0.0096)/kWh to ₹0.75 (~$0.008)/kWh.
The Commission approved Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation’s annual transmission charges at ₹57.85 billion (~$619.31 million) for FY 2027 as part of the state distribution company’s transmission cost structure.
For Torrent Power consumers in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Surat, it introduced a ₹0.3 (~$0.0032)/kWh solar-hours rebate for High Tension Maximum Demand (HTMD)-I, HTMD-II, and HTMD-Metro Traction categories. It also revised the peak-hour time-of-use charge slots to 06:00–08:00 and 17:00–23:00.
Domestic Consumers
Rural General Purpose (RGP)
GERC fixed the tariff for this category, which includes a single-phase supply up to 6 kW and a three-phase supply above 6 kW.
Small-scale animal husbandry activities with an electricity connection, a contract demand of up to 10 kW, and a maximum of 30 milking animals will be covered under this tariff category.
Fixed charges for this category remain at ₹15 (~$0.16)/month for connected loads of up to 2 KW, ₹25 (~$0.27)/month for loads between 2 kW and 4 kW, ₹45 (~$0.5)/month for loads between 4 kW and 6 kW, and ₹70 (~$0.75)/month for loads above 6 kW.
Consumers will pay the following energy charges for total monthly consumption:

<li>First 50 units- ₹3.05 (~$0.032)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹2.96 (~$0.032)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
<li>Next 50 units- ₹3.5 (~$0.04)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹3.4 (~$0.036)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
<li>Next 150 units- ₹4.15 (~$0.044)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹4.03 (~$0.043)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
<li>Above 250 units- ₹5.2 (~$0.055)/KWh for post-paid energy and ₹5.04 (~$0.054)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
</ul>
Below-poverty-line households will pay fixed charges of ₹5 (~$0.054)/month.
They must pay the following energy charges:
<ul>
<li>First 50 units- ₹1.5 (~$0.0161)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹1.46 (~$0.0157)/kWh for pre-paid energy, the same as before</li>
<li>For the remaining units- rates per RGP for post-paid and pre-paid energy consumption</li>
</ul>
The concessional tariff is only for 50 units/month.
RGP (Rural)
The tariff RGP (Rural) applies to a single-phase supply of up to 6 kW and a three-phase supply above 6 kW. The consumers must be in areas within the gram panchayat limits.
Fixed charges for this category remain at ₹15 (~$0.16)/month for connected loads of up to 2 KW, ₹25 (~$0.27)/month for loads between 2 kW and 4 kW, ₹45 (~$0.5)/month for loads between 4 kW and 6 kW, and ₹70 (~$0.75)/month for loads above 6 kW.
Consumers will pay the following energy charges for total monthly consumption:
<ul>
<li>First 50 units- ₹2.65 (~$0.0284)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹2.57 (~$0.0276)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
<li>Next 50 units- ₹3.1 (~$0.033)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹3.01 (~$0.032)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
<li>Next 150 units- ₹3.75 (~$0.04)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹3.64 (~$0.04)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
<li>Above 250 units- ₹4.9 (~$0.052)/KWh for post-paid energy and ₹4.75 (~$0.051)/kWh for pre-paid energy</li>
</ul>
Below-poverty-line households will pay fixed charges of ₹5 (~$0.054)/month.
They must pay the following energy charges:
<ul>
<li>First 50 units- ₹1.5 (~$0.0161)/kWh for post-paid energy and ₹1.46 (~$0.0157)/kWh for pre-paid energy, the same as before</li>
<li>For the remaining units- rates per RGP (Rural) for post-paid and pre-paid energy consumption</li>
</ul>
The concessional tariff is only for 50 units/month.
Non-RGP
This tariff will apply to premises not covered by other tariff categories and up to a maximum aggregate load of 40 kW.
Consumers under this category can also opt to be charged per the LTMD category.
Fixed charges for this category will be ₹50 (~$0.53)/kW for the first 10 kW of connected load and ₹85 (~$0.91)/kW for the next 30 kW of connected load.
Consumers under this category must pay the following energy charges:
<ul>
<li>Contracted monthly loads of up to 10 kW- ₹ 4.35 (~$0.047)/kWh for post-paid charging and ₹4.22 (~$0.045)/kWh for pre-paid charging</li>
<li>Contracted monthly loads of over 10 kW- ₹4.65 (~$0.049)/kWh for post-paid charge and ₹4.51 (~$0.048)/kWh for pre-paid charge</li>
</ul>
Consumers with a contact demand above 10 kW will also be charged ₹0.45 (~$0.005)/kWh for peak hours from 07:00 to 11:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.
Low Tension Maximum Demand (LTMD)
This tariff applies to consumers with an aggregate load exceeding 40 kW.
Non-RGP consumers can also be charged under this tariff category.
Consumers under this category must pay the following demand charges:
<ul>
<li>For the first 40 kW- ₹90 (~$1)/kW/month</li>
<li>Next 20 kW – ₹130 (~$1.4)/kW/month</li>
<li>Above 60 kW – ₹195 (~$2.1)/kW/month</li>
<li>For billing demands above the contract demand, consumers must pay ₹265 (~$2.84)/kW</li>
</ul>
Energy charges applicable for a full month will be ₹4.6 (~$0.05)/kWh for a post-paid energy charge and ₹4.46 (~$0.048)/kWh for a pre-paid energy charge.
Time-of-use charges of ₹0.45 (~$0.005)/kWh will apply to energy consumption during peak hours between 07:00 to 11:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.
Reactive energy charges for the month will be ₹0.1 (~$0.001)/kVARh.
LT EV Charging Stations
This tariff will apply to consumers who use electricity exclusively for EV charging installations.
It will also apply to consumers in the RGP, RGP (Rural), general lighting, and LTMD categories.
Fixed charges will be ₹25 (~$0.27)/installation/month.
Energy charges will be ₹4.1 (~$0.044)/kWh for post-paid and ₹3.98 (~$0.043)/kWh for pre-paid.
Consumers with contracted demand above 10 kW will pay an additional charge of ₹0.45 (~$0.005)/kWh for energy consumption during two peak periods of 07:00 to 11:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.
Open Access Charges
The Commission has increased the cross-subsidy surcharge for all commercial and industrial consumers to ₹1.33 (~$0.0141)/kWh, increasing 3.1% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹1.29 (~$0.0137)/kWh.
Wheeling charges at the 11 kV, 22 kV, and 33 kV HT levels were raised 14.6% to ₹0.23 (~$0.0025)/kWh from ₹0.2 (~$0.0022)/kWh. These charges at the 400 V LT level were increased 14% YoY to ₹1.11 (~$0.0118)/kWh from ₹0.97 (~$0.0103)/kWh.

Commercial and Industrial Consumers

High-Tension Power (HTP)-1
This tariff will apply to HT consumers with a minimum contracted demand of 100 kVA for regular power supply and purposes not specified in any other HT categories.
Consumers under this category must pay the following demand charges:
<ul>
<li>For the first 500 kVA- ₹150 (~$1.61)/kVA/month</li>
<li>For the next 500 kVA – ₹260 (~$2.8)/kVA/month</li>
<li>For the billing demand above 1,000 kVA- ₹475 (~$5.1)/kVA/month</li>
</ul>
If the billing demand exceeds the contract demand, consumers will be charged ₹555 (~$6)/kVA/month.
Consumers will pay the following energy charges:
<ul>
<li>For up to 500 kVA demand- ₹4 (~$0.043)/kWh</li>
<li>For demand between 500 kVA and 2,500 kVA- ₹4.2 (~$0.045)/kWh</li>
<li>For demand above 2,500 kVA- ₹4.3 (~$0.046)/kWh</li>
</ul>
They must pay the following time-of-use charges:
<ul>
<li>For demand up to 500 kVA- ₹0.45 (~$0.005)/kWh</li>
<li>For demand above 500 kVA- ₹0.85 (~$0.01)/kWh</li>
</ul>
HTP-II
This tariff will apply to energy supplied to HT consumers contracting for at least 100 kVA of power at waterworks and sewerage pumping stations operated by local authorities, the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation Water Works.
Consumers under this category will pay the following demand charges:
<ul>
<li>For demand of up to 500 kVA- ₹115 (~$1.23)/kVA/month</li>
<li>For the next 500 kVA- ₹225 (~$2.41)/kVA/month</li>
<li>For demand above 1,000 kVA – ₹290 (~$3.11)/kVA/month</li>
</ul>
Consumers must pay ₹360 (~$3.9)/kVA/month if the billing demand exceeds the contract demand.
They will pay the following energy charges:
<ul>
<li>For demand of up to 500 kVA- ₹4.35 (~$0.046)/kWh</li>
<li>For demand between 500 kVA and 2,500 kVA- ₹4.55 (~$0.048)/kWh</li>
<li>For demand above 2,500 kVA- ₹4.65 (~$0.049)/kWh</li>
</ul>
Time-of-use charges of ₹0.45 (~$0.005)/kWh will apply for billing demand of up to 500 kVA for consumption during peak hours between 7:00 to 11:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.
Billing demand above 500 kVA for consumption during peak hours between 7:00 to 11:00 and 18:00 and 22:00 will attract time-of-use charges of ₹0.85 (~$0.01)/kWh.
HTP-III
This tariff will apply to consumers taking a supply of electricity at high voltage, contracting for not less than 100 kVA for a temporary period. Consumers not taking supply on a regular basis under a proper agreement shall be deemed to be taking supply for a temporary period.
Demand charges for consumers in this category will be ₹18 (~$0.19)/kVA/day for up to the contract demand and ₹20 (~$0.21)/kVA/day for demand above the contract demand.
They must pay energy charges of ₹6.6 (~$0.07)/kWh for monthly consumption.
Consumers must also pay time-of-use charges of ₹0.85 (~$0.01)/kWh for peak hours between 7:00 and 11:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.
HTP-IV
This tariff will apply to consumers who opt for an electricity supply of at least 100 kVA during the night hours between 22:00 and 6:00.
Such consumers must pay demand charges of one-third of the HTP-I fixed charges.
They must also pay energy charges of ₹2.25 (~$0.024)/kWh for monthly consumption.
HTP-V
This tariff will apply to the supply of electricity to HT agricultural consumers contracting for at least 100 kVA, requiring power supply for lifting water from surface water sources such as canals, rivers, and dams, and for supplying water directly to farmers&#8217; fields for agricultural irrigation only.
Consumers under this category will pay demand charges of ₹25 (~$0.27)/kVA/month.
They must pay energy charges of ₹0.8 (~$0.0086)/kWh.
Railway Traction Tariff
This tariff will apply for power supply to railway traction at 132 kV/66 kV.
Demand charges will be ₹180 (~$2)/kVA/month for billing demand up to the contract demand. These charges for demand above the contract demand will be ₹425 (~$4.56)/kVA/month.
Consumers must pay energy charges of ₹5 (~$0.054)\kWh for monthly consumption.
HT EV Charging Stations
This tariff will apply to consumers who use electricity only for EV charging installations.
This can also apply to consumers in the HTP-I, HTP-II, HTP-III, HTP-IV, HTP-V, and railway traction categories.
Demand charges will be ₹25 (~$0.27)/kVA/month for billing demand up to the contract demand and ₹50 (~$0.536)/kVA/month for demand above the contract demand.
Consumers must pay energy charges of ₹4 (~$0.043)/kWh for the entire month.
They must pay time-of-use charges of ₹0.45 (~$0.005)/kWh for power consumption between 7:00 to 11:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.
