<p><strong>Solar Landscape, a U.S.-based developer and operator of distributed solar and storage projects, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/solar-landscape-secures-150-million-for-distributed-solar-pipeline/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a development financing facility</strong> of up to $150 million from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to support its U.S. distributed solar pipeline. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners will provide the capital through its Green Credit Fund II. The facility will initially support approximately 250 MW of mid-stage and late-stage distributed solar projects.</p>
<p><strong>European Energy, a renewable energy project developer, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/european-energy-secures-78million-uk-solar-battery-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> £58.1 million (~$78.5 million)</strong> in construction financing for its Indian Queens hybrid renewable energy project in Cornwall, U.K. The project comprises a 68 MW solar park and a 47.5 MW/95 MWh battery storage system. Construction is underway, with commercial operations expected to begin in 2027. The financing from Danske Bank further strengthens European Energy’s ability to deliver large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across key European markets.</p>
<p><strong>Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Fund II, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/cip-secures-510-million-solar-plus-storage-project-mexico/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached</a> financial close</strong> for the La Esperanza Solar project in Mexico. Located in Campeche, Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, the project will comprise 420 MW of solar capacity and a 150 MW/750 MWh battery energy storage system. La Esperanza Solar is CIP’s first investment in Mexico to reach financial close, with commercial operations expected in 2028. Construction of the project has begun.</p>
<p><strong>Heelstone Renewable Energy, an independent power producer and a Qualitas Energy company, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/heelstone-acquires-188-mw-development-stage-solar-project-texas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> </strong>the development-stage Cypress Pointe Solar project in Texas. Located in Sabine County within the Southwest Power Pool market, the project has a planned capacity of approximately 188 MW. Heelstone expects it to begin commercial operations in 2029.</p>
<p><strong>Engineering, procurement and construction company Dilip Buildcon’s board of directors has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/dilip-buildcon-to-sell-stakes-in-under-construction-solar-transmission-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> the divestment </strong>of its stakes in an under-construction solar project in Madhya Pradesh and a power transmission project in Karnataka to Alpha Alternatives Fund Advisors. The projects have a combined cost of approximately ₹84 billion (~$881.58 million). The consideration for the transaction will be determined through a phased subscription and closing mechanism, in accordance with the terms agreed between the parties.</p>

Project Finance Brief: Solar Landscape Secures $150 Million

					</table><p><a href="https://heelstoneenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Heelstone Renewable Energy</a>, an independent power producer and a Qualitas Energy company, has acquired the development-stage Cypress Pointe Solar project in Texas.</p>
<p>Located in Sabine County within the Southwest Power Pool market, the project has a planned capacity of approximately 188 MW.<br />
Heelstone expects it to begin commercial operations in 2029.</p>
<p>Azimuth Renewables developed Cypress Pointe Solar through its early and mid-stage phases and advanced the project before the acquisition. Azimuth is an energy infrastructure developer based in St. Louis, Missouri.</p>
<p>Mike Weich, CEO of Heelstone Renewable Energy, said: “Cypress Pointe Solar is a strong addition to our portfolio and reflects our continued focus on building a high-quality development pipeline. Azimuth Renewables has been instrumental in advancing the project to this stage, and we look forward to progressing it towards construction while continuing to pursue additional acquisition and development opportunities across the United States.”</p>
<p>The transaction follows Heelstone’s financial <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/qualitas-energy-secures-61-million-for-117-mw-solar-portfolio-in-poland/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closings</a> in July of this year for three solar projects totaling 86 MW. The company said those closings supported the expansion of its development and operating portfolio. In July 2026, Qualitas Energy secured approximately €53 million (~$61 million) to finance the construction of a 117 MW solar portfolio in Poland.</p>
<p>Additionally, in 2026, the company announced the <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/qualitas-energy-acquires-164-mw-solar-project-in-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquisition</a> of a development-stage solar project in Illinois, U.S., with a planned capacity of 164 MW from Bechtel Enterprises, and the <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/qualitas-energy-acquires-376-mw-solar-project-portfolio-in-poland/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquisition</a> of a portfolio of nine operational solar photovoltaic projects in Poland with a total installed capacity of 376 MWp.</p>
<p>Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, Heelstone develops, finances, builds, and operates utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects. The company said it has developed or brought into commercial operation more than 80 solar photovoltaic projects totaling over 1.2 GW.</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s 1H and Q2 2026 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/1h-and-q2-2026-solar-funding-and-ma-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, approximately 25.2 GW of solar projects were acquired in the first half of 2026, compared to 19.9 GW in the first half of 2025.</p>


Heelstone Acquires 188 MW Development-Stage Solar Project in Texas

<p><strong>Solar energy firm SOLEK has </strong><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/solek-closes-financing-solar-projects-chile/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>closed</strong></a><strong> a $379 million financing package, including a private placement of 20-year bonds in the United States for its projects in Chile</strong>. The privately owned Czech firm raised $178 million through the private placement and $75 million in mezzanine financing, plus other forms of loans. The company owns a 284 MW portfolio of solar projects in Chile.</p>
<p><strong>BayWa r.e., a renewable service provider, energy developer and distributor, </strong><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/baywa-r-e-secures-financing-solar-project-spain/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>secured</strong></a><strong> €32.5 million (~$34.67 million) financing for a 54 MW solar project in Spain</strong>. The Alhendín solar project is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion at the end of June this year. Once connected to the grid by the end of 2023, it is expected to generate 96.8 GWh of renewable energy each year, equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 24,700 Spanish households.</p>
<p><strong>MYTILINEOS Energy &amp; Metals, a global industrial and energy company, </strong><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/mytilineos-acquisition-1-2-gw-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> its entry into the Canadian market through the acquisition of a 1,235 MW (1.4 GWdc)</strong> Alberta solar portfolio from Westbridge Renewable Energy. The transaction, valued at CAD$1.7 billion (~$1.2 billion), involves the purchase of five solar projects by MYTILINEOS’ subsidiary, M Renewables. The projects – Georgetown Solar (230 MW), Sunnynook Solar (280 MW), Dolcy Solar (200 MW), Eastervale Solar (300 MW), and Red Willow Solar (225 MW), are projected to generate 2.1 TWh per year of renewable energy.</p>

<p><strong>Cero Generation, a solar and storage project developer, and its UK development partner Enso Energy, </strong><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/cero-generation-enso-energy-achieve-financial-close-bess-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> financial closure on the 49.5 MW/ 99 MWh battery energy storage project</strong>. The battery will be co-located with the Larks Green solar PV project in South Gloucestershire – a 49.9 MW solar farm developed jointly by Cero and Enso, which came online in May. The financing was provided by Rabobank, who also financed the Larks Green solar project.</p>
<p><strong>Canadian Solar, a vertically integrated manufacturer of silicon ingots, wafers, and PV cells and modules, </strong><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/canadian-solar-sells-solar-project-japan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>completed</strong></a><strong> the sale of 100 MW of Azuma Kofuji solar project</strong> located in Fukushima, Japan, to Japanese investors arranged by Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd (“Mizuho Fund”). Canadian Solar expects to recognize the revenue from the transaction in the second quarter of 2023.</p>
