					</table><p>India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solar-installations-in-india-surge-53-7-yoy-in-9m-2025-with-26-6-gw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> a solar capacity of 26.6 GW in the first nine months (9M) of the calendar year 2025, an increase of 53.7% year-over-year from 17.3 GW, according to the newly released Q3 2025 India Solar Market Update Report by Mercom India Research. Large-scale solar accounted for 81.5% of the capacity commissioned in 9M 2025, while rooftop solar contributed 18.5%. Within large-scale additions, solar open access projects accounted for 28.3% of the total during the period. “Solar installations in the first nine months of 2025 were the highest India has ever recorded, surpassing all of 2024. The industry made solid progress this quarter, but supply constraints, grid congestion, and curtailment continued to hinder execution.</p>
<p>Nine companies <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sun-drops-engie-among-winners-of-gujarat-discoms-4-gwh-bess-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s auction to develop 2,000 MW/4,000 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems across Gujarat. Sun Drops Energia, ENGIE Energy, Mecpower Solutions, Samavist Energy Solutions, Stockwell Solar Services, Solar 91 Cleantech, Viviana Power Tech, Rajesh Power Services, and Ultimate Flexipack are the winners. Sun Drops won 445 MW/890 MWh at a tariff of ₹185,390 (~$2,091.49)/MW/month. Engie was awarded 280 MW/560 MWh at a tariff of ₹187,000 (~$2,109.66)/MW/month. Mecpower bagged 65 MW/130 MWh at a tariff of ₹187,994 (~$2,120.87)/MW/month.</p>
<p>Pace Digitek and Bondada Engineering <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/pace-digitek-bondada-win-mahagencos-300-mw-solar-epc-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company’s engineering, procurement, and construction auction for 300 MW solar projects, securing 200 MW and 100 MW, respectively. The tender was floated on October 11, 2024. The contract value for Pace Digitek is ₹9.3 billion (~$105 million) and for Bondada Engineering ₹4.65 billion (~$52.46 million). The winning bidders must design, engineer, manufacture, demonstrate performance, and commission the solar projects. They must also provide operation and maintenance services for three years. Each project must be at a single location with a minimum capacity of 50 MW.</p>
<p>The Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/punjab-issues-draft-banking-guidelines-for-green-energy-open-access-consumers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a draft procedure governing the banking of renewable energy for green energy open access (GEOA) consumers under the PSERC (Terms and Conditions for Intra-State Open Access) Regulations, 2011. The banking procedure applies to all GEOA consumers of PSPCL connected to Punjab’s intrastate transmission or distribution network, including those availing both intrastate and interstate open access. It also applies to captive users who draw power from renewable energy-based captive generating plants located in Punjab, subject to additional compliance under the PSERC Captive Power Generation Regulations and earlier banking orders applicable to CGPs.</p>
<p>The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rajasthan-issues-norms-to-develop-captive-third-party-renewable-energy-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to streamline the development, approval, and commissioning of renewable energy projects developed under captive and third-party sale modes. The SOP covers key processes, including project registration, power evacuation planning, captive status verification, installation of battery energy storage systems, and various compliance requirements mandated under Rajasthan’s energy regulations. The procedure aims to enhance regulatory transparency and ensure smooth integration of renewable projects with the state’s transmission and distribution network.</p>
<p>The Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/tamil-nadu-invites-bids-for-1-5-gwh-of-standalone-battery-energy-storage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up seven standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 375 MW/1,500 MWh. Bids must be submitted by December 22, 2025. Bids will be opened on the next day. The minimum bid size must be 25 MW / 100 MWh. The project size should be quoted in multiples of 25 MW. A maximum of 175 MW/700 MWh will be allocated to a single bidder. The BESS must be designed to ensure that it can charge and discharge with a C rate of 0.25. Additionally, the BESS must be capable of being charged or discharged in groups from 25 MW/100 MWh to 50 MW/200 MWh, up to the total rated capacity specified in the BESPA.</p>
<p>Tata Power Delhi Distribution <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/tata-power-delhi-issues-tender-for-200-mw-firm-renewable-energy-with-ess" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender to procure 200 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy, with an energy storage system, from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected renewable energy projects. The tender includes a greenshoe option for an additional 200 MW capacity. Bids must be submitted by December 6, 2025. Bids will be opened on December 12. The scope of work entails the design, installation, ownership, testing, and commissioning of the project. They must identify the project land and obtain connectivity, as well as approvals and interconnection with the ISTS network/state transmission unit network. The project can be installed in Tata Power Delhi’s jurisdiction. Successful bidders must install and maintain a GPS-enabled automatic weather station.</p>
<p>GRP, a manufacturer of reclaimed rubber, polyamide, and engineered products from end-of-life materials, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/grp-to-procure-power-from-becis-8-mw-captive-solar-project-in-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> into a power purchase agreement with BECIS Solar 5 to procure power from an 8 MW captive solar power project in Gujarat. GRP has also entered into a share subscription and shareholders’ agreement with BECIS and its promoter BE-Onsite Solar Energy to acquire 26.43% of BECIS Solar 5’s equity for a cash consideration of ₹26.4 million (~$298,046). This deal will allow the company to procure renewable energy at a preferential tariff, thereby reducing its overall energy costs and enhancing sustainability across its Gujarat-based manufacturing operations.</p>
<p>Langfang Sol-Bright New Energy will <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sol-bright-to-supply-module-cleaning-robots-for-ampins-160-mw-hybrid-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supply</a> its water-free robotic solar module cleaning systems to AMPIN Energy Transition’s 160 MW wind-solar hybrid projects in Rajasthan. The supply contract entails the provision of both fully automatic and semi-automatic advanced versions of Sol-Bright’s robotic cleaning systems, as well as the installation of 1P Single-Axis Trackers. The systems are expected to be deployed in the fourth quarter of 2025. To date, Sol-Bright has supplied nearly 100,000 units of robots for an estimated 40 GW projects worldwide, covering more than 195 solar projects. Langfang Sol-Bright New Energy was among the top five robotic solar module cleaning equipment suppliers to the Indian solar market in 2024, according to Mercom’s India Solar Market Leaderboard 2025 report.</p>
<p>Godawari New Energy (GNEPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Godawari Power &amp; Ispat (GPIL), is <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/godawari-power-to-set-up-10-gwh-bess-plant-in-maharashtra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">setting</a> up a 10 GWh battery energy storage system manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. The board of directors at GPIL has recently approved this investment. GPIL is a flagship company of the HIRA Group. Under the approved plan, GPIL will invest up to ₹3 billion (~$33.84 million) in GNEPL, to be infused over time in one or more tranches. The investment includes both the existing equity shareholding in GNEPL and participation in the company’s upcoming rights issue. As part of the rights issue, GNEPL will offer 12,49,50,000 of 0.1% non-cumulative, optionally convertible, and redeemable preference shares to GPIL.</p>
<p>Jaipur-based solar module manufacturer Insolation Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/insolation-energy-revenue-up-1h-fy-2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> a revenue of ₹7.76 billion (~$87.57 million) in the first half of the financial year 2026, an increase of 25.62% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹6.18 billion (~$69.74 million). The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization saw a YoY growth of 30.62%, rising to ₹1.14 billion (~$12.75 million) from ₹871.2 million (~$9.83 million). Profit after tax increased by 23.53% to ₹800.6 million (~$9.03 million) from ₹648.1 million (~$7.31 million). The earnings per share also increased to ₹3.63 (~$0.034) from ₹3.11 (~$0.035).</p>
<p>France-based solar module manufacturer HoloSolis <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/holosolis-secures-e220-million-for-5-gw-solar-module-plant-in-france" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> €220 million (~$255 million) in financing for its solar panel plant in Hambach in the Moselle prefecture. The company, which claims to be building the largest solar module plant in Europe with a capacity of 5 GW, has also secured two new private partners, Calès Technologie and Forming, who have together committed an investment of €13 million (~$15 million) in the facility. Calès is a turnkey engineering and construction solutions provider for industrial and energy projects. Forming specializes in cold profiling and structural design for solar power projects.</p>
<p>U.S.-headquartered Shoals Technologies Group, a manufacturer of electrical balance of systems (EBOS) for solar, energy storage, and emobility, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/shoals-revenue-jumps-33-in-q3-on-higher-project-volumes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> a 32.8% YoY increase in revenue to $135.8 million in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025 from $102.2 million. The company attributed the revenue growth to strong underlying demand for EBOS products, the impact of market share capture initiatives, and an increase in project volumes during the year. Shoals posted a net profit of $11.9 million against a net loss of $267,000 in Q3 2024. Adjusted EBITDA rose by 30.61% to $32 million from $24.5 million in the same quarter last year. Shoals’ earnings per share (EPS) came in at $0.07 compared to nil EPS in Q3 2024.</p>
<p>Germany-based solar energy equipment supplier SMA Solar Technology <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sma-solars-9m-revenue-up-7-on-large-scale-business-segment-growth" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> revenue of €1.13 billion (~$1.31 billion) for the first nine months (9M) of 2025, a 7% YoY decline from €1.06 billion (~$1.22 billion). Sales in the Home and Business Solutions division declined by 38.7% to €181.3 million (~$210.32 million), primarily due to weaker demand, intensified competitive pressure, and pricing pressure. The Large Scale and Project Solutions division reported a 24.8% increase in revenue, reaching €953.4 million (~$1.10 billion). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization were a loss of €16.9 million (~$19.6 million) compared to €83.5 million (~$96.86 million) in the same period last year.</p>
<p>Renewable energy solutions company  Canadian Solar’s revenue for Q3 of 2025 <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/canadian-solar-revenue-flat-in-q3-solar-cell-plant-to-go-online-in-2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">remained</a> flat at $1.48 billion, reducing 1% YoY from $1.5 billion. However, the revenue was at the high end of the company’s guidance. This performance was attributed to strong energy storage deliveries and a high mix of module shipments to profitable markets. The company’s solar component manufacturing subsidiary, CSI Solar, earned revenue of $1.38 billion, reducing 5.3% YoY from $1.46 billion. Recurrent Energy, the subsidiary developing, owning, and operating utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, saw revenue rising 127% YoY to $102.3 million from $45.05 million.</p>
<p>The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/spain-announces-e2-billion-funding-package-for-energy-transition" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a new €2 billion (~$2.3 billion) aid package aimed at strengthening the industrial value chain and promoting the energy transition. Eligible projects completed beyond August 31, 2026, will also be eligible to receive aid. Vice President of the Government and Minister for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen, said that the new aid package will boost competitiveness in four key areas: the industrial value chain, the integration of renewable energy solutions into the economic fabric, a renewed push for electric mobility, and innovative thermal solutions in the industrial and residential sectors.</p>
<p>Close on the heels of European lawmakers <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/republican-lawmakers-raise-fears-over-chinese-solar-inverters-harming-us-grid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">calling</a> for restrictions on Chinese inverters, over 50 House Republicans in the U.S. have petitioned the Department of Commerce to curb imports of Chinese electric grid components. In a letter, the lawmakers expressed fears over the growing use of China-manufactured solar and battery inverters, utility-scale components, and other technologies they say could be exploited to compromise the U.S. electric grid. The letter pointed to ‘a dangerous overreliance’ on foreign-made equipment amid rising electricity demand driven by artificial intelligence, new data centers, and industrial growth.</p>

					</table><p>France-based solar module manufacturer <a href="https://holosolis.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HoloSolis</a> has secured €220 million (~$255 million) in financing for its solar panel plant in Hambach in the Moselle prefecture.</p>
<p>The company, which claims to be building the largest solar module plant in Europe with a capacity of 5 GW, has also secured two new private partners, Calès Technologie and Forming, who have together committed an investment of €13 million (~$15 million) in the facility.</p>
<p>Calès is a turnkey engineering and construction solutions provider for industrial and energy projects. Forming specializes in cold profiling and structural design for solar power projects.</p>
<p>According to HoloSolis, construction of the plant is scheduled to begin in 2026, with the first modules utilizing N-type TOPCon technology expected to be rolled out in 2027. At full capacity, the facility will produce more than 10 million solar panels annually.</p>
<p>HoloSolis has already partnered with InnoEnergy, Armor Group, IDEC, TSE, and Heraeus. “Several photovoltaic developers have chosen to invest in the project, and we have a total of more than 20 GW of customer letters of intent, which demonstrates the strength of our business model,” according to CEO Bertrand Lecacheux.</p>
<p>In June this year, European Commission-backed solar panel manufacturer Heliup <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/heliup-begins-manufacturing-lightweight-solar-modules-in-france" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> its pilot 100 MW solar module manufacturing facility in France. It will focus on producing lightweight modules utilizing ultra-thin glass.</p>
<p>In 2024, the European Parliament <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/eu-approves-net-zero-industry-act" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> the Net-Zero Industry Act to promote the production of net-zero technologies within the European Union. The Act aims to have Europe produce 40% of its net-zero technology needs by 2030 and capture 15% of the global market for these technologies.</p>
<p>France <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/france-records-1-4-gw-solar-installations-in-first-quarter-of-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> 1,442 MW of solar capacity in the first quarter of 2025, a 34.76% year-over-year increase from 1,070 MW, according to the country’s Ministry of Energy Transition. Solar installations during the quarter were also the highest for any first quarter since 2010.</p>


HoloSolis Secures €220 Million for 5 GW Solar Module Plant in France

					</table><p>Solar module manufacturer <a href="https://holosolis.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Holosolis</a> plans to establish a photovoltaic module gigafactory in France, with an annual capacity of 5 GW. The gigafactory is set to commence production in 2025, enabling the production of 10 million photovoltaic modules which can meet the energy needs of one million European homes.</p>
<p>Full operations of the plant are scheduled to begin in 2027.</p>
<p>China currently dominates the global photovoltaic module market with an 80% share, while the European Union accounts for only 3%.</p>
<p>Following a thorough review process, Holosolis chose France for the know-how and availability of the workforce, the quality of its infrastructure, and the low-carbon nature of the energy made in the country. The site secured for the gigafactory is across 50 hectares, offering expansion space as new technologies and manufacturing capacities are integrated.</p>
<p>Jan Jacob Boom-Wichers, CEO of Holosolis, said, “We will manufacture the most energy-efficient modules, incorporating the latest photovoltaic technologies, with the lowest carbon footprint and highest social standards. Scale effects and line automation will allow for a competitive cost to rival the global giants in the industry. Our modules will be aimed at three main markets: residential roofing, industrial and commercial roofing, and agrivoltaics.”</p>
<p>Holosolis is already planning to create other solar module production plants in Europe.</p>
<p>Holosolis was founded by <a href="https://www.innoenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EIT InnoEnergy</a>, a cleantech and sustainable energy company supported by the European Union; the <a href="https://www.groupeidec.com/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IDEC Group</a>, a real estate firm; and <a href="https://tse.energy/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TSE</a>, a solar energy producer specializing in agrivoltaics.</p>
<p>Diego Pavía, CEO of EIT InnoEnergy, said, “Holosolis is expected to contribute over 15% towards the alliance&#8217;s goal of achieving an annual capacity of 30 GW by 2025. This target translates to approximately €60 billion (~$64.6 billion) of yearly new GDP in Europe.”</p>
<p>The gigafactory holds strategic significance within the European Union’s <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/eu-e250-billion-green-industrial-plan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Green Deal Industrial Plan</a> and is a flagship initiative of the European Solar and Photovoltaics Industrial Alliance (<a href="https://single-market-economy.ec.europa.eu/industry/strategy/industrial-alliances/european-solar-photovoltaic-industry-alliance_en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ESIA</a>).</p>
<p>The gigafactory will complement Europe&#8217;s <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/european-union-urged-to-rethink-the-structure-of-its-energy-markets" target="_blank" rel="noopener">REPowerEU plan</a>, which aims to install 600 GW of solar energy by 2030.</p>
