					</table><p>The <a href="https://powermin.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ministry of Power</a> has approved transmission works to evacuate a cumulative 2,500 MW of renewable energy in Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>On the recommendations of the 24th meeting of the National Committee on Transmission, the Ministry announced a 1,000 MW and 1,500 MW transmission system to evacuate power from renewable energy projects in the Neemuch Solar Energy Zone (SEZ) (Phase II) and Rajgarh SEZ in Madhya Pradesh (Phase III) respectively.</p>
<p>REC Power Development and Consultancy has been selected as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for Rajgarh SEZ in Madhya Pradesh (Phase III) and PFC Consulting has been chosen as the BPC for the Neemuch SEZ.</p>
<p><strong>Rajgarh SEZ </strong></p>
<p>The scope of work involves the creation of a new 220 kV Bus Section (3rd) with 220 kV bus sectionalizer and 400/220 kV, 3&#215;500 MVA ICT augmentation (7th, 8th &amp; 9th) at Pachora PS terminated on 220 kV Bus Section (3rd).</p>
<p>As of July 2024, applications for a cumulative capacity of 4,000 MW have been received at Pachora PS. The project is envisioned to accommodate applications beyond 2.5 GW. Out of 1,508 MW applications received for the Rajgarh Phase-III system, renewable energy projects for 1,321 MW have been set a start date of March 2027.</p>
<p>Additionally, 1,87MW applications received in July 2024 are under process and will be granted with the start date of March 2027.</p>
<p>After completion of the new transmission work, the project will enable the evacuation of up to cumulative capacity of 4,000 MW of power from renewable energy projects in Rajgarh.</p>
<p>The project is expected to be completed within 24 months of transferring a special-purpose vehicle. The portion of the project where a 220 kV line bay is being drawn for renewable energy interconnection of Purvah Green Power on Bus Section is expected to be completed by March 31, 2028.</p>
<p>The project is expected to be completed at a cost of ₹10.79 billion (~$127.15 million).</p>
<p><strong>Neemuch SEZ</strong></p>
<p>The Neemuch Solar Park in Neemuch SEZ in Madhya Pradesh under Phase II spans approximately 341 hectares. RUMSL provides the power evacuation infrastructure, comprising one 33/220 kV outdoor substation dedicated to the project at the solar park.</p>
<p>The scope of work involves creating a new 220 kV bus section-II at Neemuch PS with augmentation of transformation capacity by 3&#215;500 MVA, 400/220 kV ICTs (3rd, 4th &amp; 5th) at Neemuch substation and associated bays.</p>
<p>Applications for a cumulative capacity of 1,970 MW have been received at Neemuch, and to accommodate applications being received beyond 1 GW PS, the project is being envisioned. After the new transmission work is completed, the project will enable the evacuation of a cumulative 2,000 MW of power</p>
<p>The project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the date of the SPV transfer. The project is estimated to cost of ₹ 23.93 billion (~$282.01 million).</p>
<p>In July 2024, the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://powermin.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">directed</a> that a transmission license be granted to Pachora Power Transmission to establish the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from RE Projects in Rajgarh (1,000 MW) SEZ in Madhya Pradesh-Phase II.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://waaree.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Waaree Group</a> has won Rewa Ultra Mega Solar’s (<a href="https://rumsl.mp.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RUMSL</a>) auction to develop a 170 MW solar power project at the Neemuch Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>The company quoted a tariff of ₹2.15(~$0.025)/kWh to win the auction.</p>
<p>The project is financed by the World Bank with the International Finance Corporation providing transaction advisory support.</p>
<p>The tender for the project was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rumsl-i170-mw-solar-project-neemuch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in April this year.</p>
<p>The Neemuch Solar Park spans approximately 341 hectares, with the requisite infrastructure for power evacuation. RUMSL will provide the power evacuation infrastructure, comprising one 33/220 kV outdoor substation dedicated to the project at the solar park.</p>
<p>The project substation will also comprise two 110 MVA transformers and five 220 kV bays, including the transformer feeders and nine 33 kV circuit terminals to enable connections to the project, and one single circuit 220 kV transmission line connecting the 220 kV side of the project substation to the bay at the 220/400 kV substation.</p>
<p>The electricity generated will be transmitted through the Interstate Transmission System, serving Madhya Pradesh and Indian Railways across seven states. This dual-purpose strategy bolsters renewable energy adoption while contributing to Indian Railway’s decarbonization efforts. The power generated will be procured by the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company and West Central Railway.</p>
<p>Waaree <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/leading-solar-module-suppliers-1h-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerged</a> as one of the top solar module suppliers in 1H 2024, according to Mercom’s India Solar Market Leaderboard 1H 2024.</p>
<p>In September, Waaree Energies’ ₹43.21 billion (~$513.95 million) initial public offering <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/waaree-energies-ipo-oversubscribed-76-times">garnered</a> strong investor interest from institutional and retail buyers. At the end of the bidding window on October 23, 2024, the issue was oversubscribed 76 times.</p>
<p>Waaree Renewable Technologies, the solar engineering, procurement, and construction arm of the Waaree Group, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/revenue-waaree-q2-fy-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> a total revenue of ₹5.24 billion (~$62.24 million) in the second quarter of the financial year 2025, an increase of 249.5% year-over-year.</p>

					</table><p>NTPC Renewable Energy (<a href="https://ntpcrel.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC REL</a>) has invited bids for land and power evacuation packages to develop 900 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power project in the Neemuch Region of Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is July 10, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>The cost of the bidding documents is ₹22,500 (~$270).</p>
<p>The scope of work includes securing 5 acres per MW of contiguous land on either a freehold or leasehold basis, situated near the Neemuch ISTS substation for a minimum duration of 29 years and 11 months. No more than 10% of the total land can consist of government property.</p>
<p>The selected bidder must construct an access road with appropriate signage leading to the pooling substation and ensure connectivity between plots, independently or via state assistance.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will be responsible for conducting a topography survey of the land parcels, performing any necessary land modifications like cutting or filling to achieve 95% compaction as per the standard proctor density test, and ensuring the land maintains an average slope of 10%. This is crucial for installing tracker-based module mounting structures, with a preference for the slope extending in a single direction over a minimum length of 100m in the north-south axis.</p>
<p>The selected bidder must also build a 220 kV/400 kV AIS pooling substation complete with a power transformer, an associated substation automation system, and protection measures to handle the proposed capacity and necessary reactive power. This includes installing 33 kV pooling switchgear and conducting all related civil work for the substation, including the control room and switchgear buildings.</p>
<p>The project also involves designing and constructing an extra-high-voltage transmission line that extends from the pooling substation to the ISTS substation.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the selected bidder must provide three years of operation and maintenance services for the pooling substation, associated equipment, and the extra-high-voltage transmission line, including the terminal bay at the ISTS end.</p>
<p>Bidders should have arranged land or obtained technical feasibility approval for power evacuation through intra-state or ISTS substations for grid-connected solar wind or wind-solar hybrid power projects of 100 MW or higher cumulative capacity. Out of this, at least one project should have a capacity of 50 MW or higher.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of the bidders for any three out of the preceding five financial years, as of the bid opening date, should not be less than the specified financial figure below:</p>
<ul>
<li>The minimum annual turnover for a quoted capacity of 50 MW- 300 MW should be ₹125.7 million (~$1.5 million).</li>
<li>The minimum annual turnover for a quoted capacity of more than 300 MW should be ₹419,000 (~$5,019)/MW.</li>
</ul>
<p>Bidders should also have a positive net worth on the last day of the preceding financial year.</p>
<p>In March, NTPC REL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-rel-land-transmission-tender-150-mw-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the land and power evacuation package to set up a 150 MW grid-connected solar power project in Bhadla, Rajasthan.</p>
