					</table>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:
Waaree Renewable Technologies, the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm of Waaree Group, <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/c1b5761d-b168-4f4a-bcbd-f35c9e55109c.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that the company has received a letter of award for executing the EPC works for a solar power project of 52.5 MW (DC) capacity from a  steel company. The company also received the provision of land, infrastructure, and approvals for a 70 MW (DC) capacity project.
Germany-based green hydrogen company Tree Energy Solutions (TES), and EWE, one of Germany’s largest energy companies, <a href="https://www.ewe.com/en/media-center/press-releases/2022/11/tes-and-ewe-to-build-500mw-electrolyser-at-wilhelmshaven-green-energy-hub-ewe-ag" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the signing of a memorandum of understanding to build an electrolyzer in TES’ green energy hub in Wilhelmshaven. The electrolyzer will become operational by 2028. The planned capacity of the electrolyzer is 500 MW, and with one more unit planned, the total capacity will reach 1 GW. The hub in Wilhelmshaven is strategically placed on the North Sea coast. It can accommodate up to 2 GW of electrolyzers with renewable energy sources such as offshore wind to generate locally produced green hydrogen.
Rolls-Royce Power Systems will <a href="https://www.rolls-royce.com/media/press-releases/2022/23-11-2022-rr-supplies-large-scale-battery-storage-to-semper-power-to-stabilize-the-dutch-power-grid.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supply</a> and install a large-scale mtu EnergyPack QG battery storage system on a turnkey basis to the Netherlands-based energy company Semper Power in Vlissingen. The large-scale battery storage system, with a capacity of 30 MW and a storage capacity of 60 MWh, will be used for integrating power from renewable sources into the grid in the Netherlands. The system can supply 8,000 households with electrical energy for an entire day when fully charged. The mtu QG EnergyPack storage solution consists of 168 battery units, seven inverters, and the intelligent control platform mtu EnergetIQ. When commissioned next year, it will be the largest energy storage system in the Netherlands and one of the largest in the European Union.
Green NortH2 Energy, a pioneer of green ammonia production in Finland, <a href="https://www.gneh2.com/en/news/green-north2-energy-receives-eur-2-3-million-in-rd-funding-from-business-finland-for-the-development-of-green-hydrogen-and-ammonia-production/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> research and development funding of €2.3 million (~$2.41 million) from Business Finland. The company will develop a green hydrogen and ammonia production concept with the loan. Green NortH2 Energy is developing a scalable production concept for green hydrogen and ammonia. To promote this, Business Finland granted the loan. The company already has letters of intent from Turun Seudun Energiantuotanto Oy, along with Wärtsilä and Meriaura. Green NortH2 Energy contributes significantly to the green transition by using hydrogen products from renewable energy to replace climate-damaging fossil fuels. Green NortH2 Energy intends to set up the first green ammonia production plant in Naantali.
Sweden-based Alfa Laval, a leading name in heat transfer, centrifugal separation, and fluid handling, will <a href="https://www.alfalaval.com/media/news/investors/2022/alfa-laval-supplies-heat-exchangers-to-the-world-s-largest-green-hydrogen-plant/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deliver</a> compact heat exchangers to the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, which will be developed in the Middle East. The facility, powered by renewable energy, will be developed in Neom in northwestern Saudi Arabia. Neom’s location and infrastructure will allow the generation of 4 GW of renewable power from solar and wind, where the green hydrogen production facility will use about half of it. It will be the largest green hydrogen plant and will produce 650 tons of hydrogen per day. This, in turn, will be used to produce 1.2 million tons of green ammonia annually.

Daily News Wrap-UP: Waaree Bags EPC Contract for a 52.5 MW Solar Project

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has <a href="https://www.tatapower.com/media/PressReleaseDetails/1886/tata-powers-smart-meter-testing-lab-receives-nabl-accreditation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accredited</a> Tata Power&#8217;s Smart Meter Testing and Calibration Laboratory in Mumbai.  Tata Power&#8217;s lab is equipped to test smart meters, including remote connect/disconnect, remote firmware upgradation, meter data communication, tamper event logging, and inter-laboratory comparison testing for smart meters. NABL is an autonomous body under the Quality Council of India. It gives accreditation to laboratories for their technical competence in testing and calibration. Test results from NABL accredited laboratories are acceptable globally and equivalent to accreditations received by MRA (Mutual Recognition Agreement) partners of International Laboratory Accreditation Corporation, Denmark.
Masdar City-based start-up Seramic Materials has <a href="https://www.solarpaces.org/masdar-city-start-up-seramic-materials-launches-100-recycled-thermal-energy-storage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">developed</a> a unique patented solution to recycle industrial solid waste into high-temperature thermal energy storage (TES) products. The ReThink Seramic – Flora product is a technical ceramic that can store heat at temperatures up to 1250°C. This allows thermal energy storage from process heat in concentrated solar power or industrial waste heat recovery systems or from electricity in renewable energy systems such as solar photovoltaic, wind, or even excess grid electricity.
Public infrastructure finance company REC Limited and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab South Asia plan to <a href="https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1756980" target="_blank" rel="noopener">create</a> an annual, data-based assessment of 79 distribution companies (DISCOMs). This is a move to improve consumer service delivery and ensure reliable electricity supply to consumers. The partnership will leverage existing data on DISCOMs&#8217; services to diagnose trends and identify gaps in the quality of power supply. These datasets will be used to create a consumer service index that will rank companies based on dimensions of service delivery, supply hours, grievance redressal systems, billing details, and timelines. The annual ranking report of DISCOMs will be available to the public, creating pathways for greater accountability in the provision of electricity across states.
Clean mobility infrastructure company iSun has been <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210922005488/en/iSun-Selected-for-Turnkey-Professional-and-Development-Services-EPC-for-448-Megawatt-Solar-Portfolio-by-Fusion-Renewable" target="_blank" rel="noopener">selected</a> for turnkey professional development and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services by Fusion Renewable. Projects encompass interconnect applications across three locations in Alabama, of 448 MWdc of solar production. Total EPC and renewable energy credits contracts could exceed $500 million. The project includes a $7 million development and professional services contract, which would commence immediately. The projects are expected to begin by 2022.
Idaho-based renewable energy company Clēnera and SRP <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/srp-partners-with-solar-and-storage-developer-clnera-to-build-one-of-arizonas-largest-solar-projects-301383091.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a 20-year power purchase agreement between SRP and Clēnera&#8217;s affiliate, CO Bar Solar LLC. CO Bar Solar will be commercially operational in 2024. It will deliver between 440 and 480 MWdc of renewable energy to SRP customers. Once complete, CO Bar Solar will generate enough power to meet 80,000 homes&#8217; needs while offsetting 1 billion pounds of CO2 emissions each year. The construction is expected to begin in 2023.
